The GRE or Graduate Record Examination is an exam that students need to pass in order to enter universities in the US and UK among other nations to pursue any graduate or post graduate course other than business, law and medicine.

The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) consists of two separate tests that involve a general test and a subject test in psychology. The general test in GRE comprises of three parts that include verbal, quantitative and analytical writing. The scores of the verbal and quantitative tests both have separate scores that are in between 200 to 800. The admission of the student to a university in US mostly depends on the scores of the verbal and quantitative section of the GRE test. A good score in GRE can enable to student to get admission in top ranking universities, where as a low rank could make him postpone his study plans till the next year. Although there are many universities in US that take people with low GRE scores but studying in them would be a waste of time as they are very costly and are ranked low. So it becomes important that any student aspiring to study in the US or UK should be committed in their GRE study.
