America has a host of top ranking and world renowned universities and colleges that offer virtually every course there is. Depending on the type of course or education the student intents to pursue in America he needs to clear certain tests. For instance one needs to clear the GRE tests to get an admit in any graduate of post graduate other than law, business or medicine. To procure a business degree in America one needs to clear the GMAT test. Almost all foreign nationals irrespective of the course they opt for are required to clear the TOEFL or the test of English as a foreign language. Students need to get a good score in these examinations in order to get an admit into the top ranking universities.

To study in America may prove expensive for financially week students and therefore it becomes very important that the student selects a college that offers scholarships, grants or financial aid. Students who intent to study in America can also go about doing campus jobs that would earn them enough to take care of their expenses. Although staying in college hostel is a great idea, getting accommodation in one can be rather difficult. In this case it is best to go for a private residence outside the college.
