The United Kingdom has a host of world renowned universities and colleges and most of them provide accommodation facilities. The cost of university accommodation UK, quality of stay and the methods used for allocation of rooms differ from college to college.
There are many colleges in UK that offer accommodation to students for one year only whereas there are many other that offer accommodation for the entire duration of study. Therefore it is best to refer to the college prospectus before joining one.

Most college accommodations would require a student to share regular chores like cooking and washing. Living in a private accommodation can prove more flexible to the student and he may feel less restricted.

There are some colleges in UK that offer family accommodation but they are very rare and its better to go for private accommodations as the costs would nearly be the same.
