Double opt in email marketing
Opt in email marketing is considered by many marketing gurus as the future of email marketing as it is safer and more
customer friendly as compared to any other strategy. Opt-in emails are generally regarded as permission based or responsible email marketing that involves taking permission from the customers prior to sending mails.
An opt in email marketing can be carried out in two different ways. One is single opt in email marketing and the other is double opt in email marketing. As compared to a single opt in email marketing a double opt in email marketing consists of the customer reconfirming the email before he is actually put on the subscription list. For instance a recipient even after ticking on the opt-in check box on the company website would need to reconfirm by replying to the company mail sent soon afterwards, if he really wants to be in the subscription list.
This technique of collecting email lists is one of the best as it involves complete confirmation on the side of the recipient that he actually wants to receive the mail. This can actually lead to a safer email marketing campaign with long lasting customer relationships.
